To "Mom" Grubbs' dear family,
Just heard today of your loss and wanted to express my deep and heartfelt sympathy to you all. Your mother was truly an exceptional person, caring, loving and rarely had an unkind word to say. She was a gift to all who knew her and though she will be missed, take comfort in the memories of a dear and wonderful woman whose life was well-lived. Praying God will watch over you all and bring you strength and comfort in the coming days.

My mother was the most caring lady I have or will ever know. For many years she was both mother and father to myself and my sister and brothers. I always felt her love and caring in every way. She always taught us to do what was right and always respect the feelings of others. I will never be able to put in words just how much I will miss her. My mother was always an angel here and there is no doubt she will be in heaven. I know she is now with my father and my stepfather and all those that have gone before her and that is a great comfort for me. I hope and pray to one day be reunited with her. Know in your heart MOM that I LOVE YOU MORE THAN ANY WORDS COULD EVER SAY. With all my love to you now and forever your loving son. WAYNE

My grandmother was the nicest, sweetest, most caring person I know. She would go out of her way to help anyone in need. Those of you who had the opportunity to know her would agree. I will miss her very much. We love you Grandma! Mandy, Justin, and Blake Gregory

To Pat and Kenny: My deepest condolences on the physical loss of your mother and mother-in-law. She will always be present in your heart and mind. I met her at your home, and she was indeed a remarkable woman. As the old saying goes, "they don't make 'em like that anymore". She was an angel here on earth and now she will be serving the Lord..likely making a super apple pie for Him. May your pain now be softened knowing that she is being comforted by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

My grandma was one of the best women I will ever know in my life. She was the rock of our family and loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with all her heart. I know she is with Grandaddy Carawan and Grandaddy Grubbs now. She is of sound mind and body. She may be delivering mail to angela in heaven or cutting grass on a John Deere. I will love and miss you Grandma.

One would be hard pressed to find anyone from the early Blackwater residents who didn't know Marie personally. They all loved and respected her. If an envelope was addressed wrong it didn't matter. Marie knew the addresse and put it in the correct box. She always gave her all plus to her job, even when Blackwater began to grow. I can still remember her pulling in our yard to deliver daddy's baby chicks or, if there were to many to deliver, let him know they were at the post office to be picked up. May you find comfort in knowing her last hours were spent comfortably and safe in her daughter's loving home.
