To Bill's Family;-Although I have not been in touch with him for many years, I remember him well as a wonderful pediatrician and man. I finished my pediatric residency in Philadelphia in 1969 and went on to Camp Pendleton for 13 years. One of Bill's residents, John Seward was assigned to Pendleton.I always looked for him at various AAP meetings and Navy conferences. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To Bill's Family - I remember well the energy and advocacy of Bill when he was at CHKD. Always faithful to his patients and to the mission of this great hospital, Bill said often that all children deserved the best in care and in life. I will miss him very much.

I knew Bill from when I first entered the Navy in 1967. I was a general medical officer in Sasebo, Bill the head of pediatrics in Yokosuka. Bill was incredibly supportive of me during those two years. Our paths continued in parallel, I went into pediatrics, and Bill was a mentor for years. Our association continued, by email the last several years, until the day of his untimely death. I will miss him.

I remember Dr. Bason through my many years working at CHKD as an xray tech. What a great person. He was always quick with a joke and a compliment for a job well done. The world was a better place because of him. May God Bless you and your family at this time. E. Kaye Allen
