William Ellis Obituary

William H. Ellis NORFOLK - William H. Ellis, 87, of the 2400 block of Wyoming Ave., passed away Oct. 13, 2010. He was born Nov. 1, 1922 in Portsmouth. He was predeceased by a son, Lonnie Ellis. William retired after 30 years from NRHA. He was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Beulah Ellis; five daughters, Senora Knockum, Mable Ellis, Esther Covan (Wesley), Judy Stone (William) and Evora White (Ricky); one sister, Mable E. Ellis; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Olive Grove Baptist Church, 1034 Albert Ave. Interment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby St. Chapel. www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
