Robert J. Billings|
Henderson - U.S. Army Sergeant Robert John Billings, 30, is present with his Lord and Savior after he made the ultimate sacrifice by giving his life for his country in Afghanistan on October 13, 2012. He was assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team.
Born in Ventura, California, he was the son of Kelly Eugene Billings and Hope Lea Smith billings of Amarillo, TX.
Robert was a member of The House of prayer in Clarksville, Va. he loved life, enjoyed people and valued his family and friends. He was a dedicated and intuitive solider.
A memorial service with Military Honors will be held today at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 1725 Rockspring Church Road in Townsville, N.C. 27584.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Christy Lynn Tilghman Riley Billings; two daughters, Kaili Marie Billings and Naomi Grace Billings; two sons, Isaiah Luke Billings Wilcox, of Mesa, AZ; brother, Chad Billings and Clovis, NM; his maternal grandparents, Inez and Johnny Smith of Oxnard, CA; and his paternal grandparents, Kelly Eugene and Elaine Billings of Newaygo, MI; and many aunts, uncles and extended family.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of Lou and Tootsie Tilghman, 842 Antioch Church Road, Clarksville, VA.
