Norfolk - Rameses Brimon Nabong, 58, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014.
Born in the Philippines, he was a retired MCPO from the U.S. Navy. During his Navy career he acquired the nickname "Pingster". In earlier years he was an avid chess player, runner, weightlifter, and enjoyed reading.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Minerva L. Nabong; children, Rex Nabong, Xerxes Nabong, Regina Boyd (Robert); grandson, Oliver Rameses Boyd; father, Joseph Nabong (Rosalinda) and his siblings, Ranier, Maria Cristina, and Marquez along with a host of extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his mother, Ruby Overturf.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 24, 2014 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church by Fr. Dan Beeman. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
