Jack Wesley Young

Norfolk - Jack Wesley Young, 82, loving husband and father, passed away Thursday, February 27, 2014 at a local hospital. He was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Planning Department. A lifelong native of Norfolk, Va., he served in the Korean War, was awarded the Bronze Star, and was a Boy Scout leader. He was an active member of Colonial Avenue United Methodist Church and the Virginia Wesleyan Men.

Survivors include his devoted wife of 51 years, Ann Marie Young; daughters, Amy Marie Young and Fay Annette Young, his sisters Melissa Atkins of Eden, GA, Carolyn Bailey of Virginia Beach; and brother Edward W. Young of Virginia Beach. . He was predeceased by his parents William J. Young and Lillian Gragg, his brother William J. Young, and sister Lillian Anderson.

A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at a visitation on Monday evening from 6 until 7:00 p.m. at the Norfolk Chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts.
