Henry Williams Sr.

Norfolk - Henry (Hank) Williams Sr. was called to his final duty assignment and watch on 8 March 2014.

Born in Pelham GA, 17 July 1925, he was the son of the late Onyx and Juanita Robinson Williams. He served his country proudly for 20 years in the United States Navy after which he was a civil servant. During his military career he served as a Seabee Heavy Equipment Operator (EO) and Boiler Tender (BT-1st class) onboard various sea commands.

Survivors include his wife, Etta Mae Rowe Williams; five children, Robert W. (Barbara) of Bear, DE, Henry Jr. (Arthier) of Virginia Beach, Fredric P. of Washington, DC, Karen D. Williams of Norfolk and Everett A. (Annette) of Virginia Beach; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Bryan Anderson of Birmingham, AL and a sister, Grace Williams of Lakeland, FL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Henry was a loyal member of Fleet Reserve Assn. Branch 5 (Ocean View) and a Mason within the Prince Hall Masonic Lodge and was honored to hold various offices within these organizations.

The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and gratitude for the prayers kindness and understanding during their time of bereavement.

A funeral service will be held, 2 p.m., Saturday, March 16, at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby Street, Norfolk, VA. A viewing will be held, 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
