Ellsworth Dale Holliday

Virginia Beach - Ellsworth Dale Holliday, 77, of Windsor Woods area of Virginia Beach passed away on February 10, 2014.

He was born November 21, 1936 in Jamesville, North Carolina to the late Roland Ellsworth and Selma Holliday. The family relocated to Chics Beach, Virginia Beach in 1954, where he attended Princess Anne High School. His specialty was automotive mechanics and he worked for many years with several local automotive dealerships as mechanic and service writer. He also served in the US Naval Reserve for eight years. He enjoyed boating and fishing and his family and friends benefited from his assistance in keeping their automobiles running. He was predeceased by his wife Patricia, and his brother John M. (Mike) Holliday. He is survived by daughter Dana Jo; son, John Thomas (Tommy); sisters Nan H. Smith and Susan H. Harrell; sister-in-law, Gerry Holliday; cherished aunts, Mamie Louise Roberson of Jamesville and Pat McNair of Galveston, Texas; uncles, Brightman Holliday of Matthews, NC and John Dave Mizell of Virginia Beach; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Burial was in Princess Anne Memorial Park, Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach. Arrangements were by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel.
