Delores C. Boerner|
Norfolk - Delores Carole Boerner, 80, of the Glenwood Park area, passed away April 16, 2014.
A native of Alexandria, Minnesota, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Emma Walberg.
She was a Norfolk School Traffic Guard of 8 years, and also retired from the Virginia Beach Police Department following 27 years of service.
One of her many life accomplishments was a Virginia State Blue Ribbon award-winning German Chocolate cake. Delores was the widow of Orville P. Boerner, her husband of 55 years.
She is survived by her two sons, Phillip C. Boerner and David G. Boerner, both of Norfolk.
A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m., April 23, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church by Father Joe Metzger. Entombment will follow at the family mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A reception celebrating the life of Delores will follow the entombment at the Social Hall at the Church.
