Virginia Beach - CWO Isaac George Hylton, Sr. (USN, Ret.), 92, of Mount Pleasant, SC, husband of Mary Frances Hardy Hylton died Friday, May 2, 2014. A crypt side service will be held at a later date in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Norfolk, VA. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC. MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Isaac was born May 22, 1921 in Danville, Virginia, son of the late George William Hylton and Margaret Likens Hylton. He was a Chief Warrant Officer in the US Navy for 21 years, and a retired US Marshal of 24 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, VFW, DAV, Scottish Rite, Shriners, US Marshal's Association, and the Retired Military Officer's Association. Isaac was a Japanese POW for three and a half years, a survivor of the Bataan Death March, and was transported to Japan on Japanese Hell Ships during World War II. He was also a member of the American Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor and the American Ex-Prisoners of War.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, of Mt. Pleasant, SC; daughter, Vicki McPartland and her husband, Thomas, of Mount Pleasant, SC; two sons, Barry Hylton and his wife, Helen,of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Isaac Hylton, Jr. and his wife, Stacia, of Vienna, VA; eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers and memorials the family requests that friends perform an act of kindness in Isaac's memory.
