Born in Webster County, MO Mildred, the oldest of twelve children, rapidly displayed the caregiver trait that would serve her so well throughout her life. Whether she was serving as the parent figure to all her brothers and sisters; working as Rosie the Riveter in WW II; a School Bus Driver of 25 years or just being the loving wife and mother, Mildred was all about others and not about herself. She gave from her heart and asked nothing in return.

Beside her love & service for family and friends Mildred's passion for service to her Lord and Savior was manifested in her devotion to the Salvation Army Norfolk Corps where she served in support of Songsters, Sunbeams, Girl Guards, Corps Cadets, Home League, Golden Girls, and Sunday School for over 50 years.
