Eleanor K. Wilson

Chesapeake - - Eleanor Kirk Wilson, 90, of the 1300 block of Copper Knoll Lane, passed away May 2, 2014 in her residence surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was a native of Philadelphia, Penn. and was the daughter of the late Francis and Gertrude Huth Kirk. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Harry R. Wilson and her son, Thomas Frazier Wilson.

Mrs. Wilson attended Chestnut Hill College and retired from Rowan University as the administrative assistant for the special education Assessment and Learning Center. She was a Roman Catholic who was devoted to her friends and family, was always looking for a game of Bridge, would watch Tennis anytime, anywhere and loved the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She was quick to smile and looked for joy in all things. Eleanor loved to cook and was known for her Lemon Cake, Christmas Cookies and Pepper Jelly.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughters Susan K. Wilson and Beverly J. Spencer of Chesapeake and a host of loving friends and extended family including: Gregory Spencer, Jeffery Spencer, Theresa French, Randy Spencer, Susan Spencer, Berline Spencer, Bea Luther and Cheryl Underwood.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Hope Brooks and Sherry Parrish, Eleanor's caregivers for their loving care and friendship.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 5, at 11 a.m. in Prince of Peace Catholic Church. The Reverend Father Romeo Jazmin will officiate. Burial will be private. Memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital or Maryknoll Sisters. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Chesapeake Chapel is handling arrangements.
