Virginia Beach - 81,passed away surrounded by her loving family on May 30, 2014. She was born the youngest of twelve in Bedford, VA to Claudie Falls and Harry F. Gardner. In December 1952, Rebecca married "the cutest little sailor", Walter Gerald Witt from Forest, VA. They eventually moved to Virginia Beach and brought up their four children there. Rebecca is predeceased by her husband, Gerald, her son, Douglas Witt, and her grandson, Aaron Janz. She is survived by her children, Wanda and Todd Janz, Charles and Carolyn Witt, and William Witt; grandchildren, Lindsey and Christopher Evans and Adam and Winde Witt; and her "little man", beloved great-grandson Wyatt Evans, who was the light of her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary St. Clair of Lynchburg, VA and Margaret Ward of Thaxton, VA, and her great-nephew, Kirk Ramey.
Rebecca was a member of the Forever Young Senior Group at Kempsville Recreation Center. She loved going to see her many friends. Rebecca's beautiful smile, kind and loving spirit, and generous heart will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 3, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4, at 2 p.m. Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E.
