Barbara Pankiewicz Pruitt Obituary
Barbara Pankiewicz Pruitt

Virginia Beach - Barbara "Bobbie" Pankiewicz Pruitt, 80, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. Born in Virginia Beach, she was the daughter of the late Elma Edwards Henley and Orville James "Beans" Henley.

Bobbie was "Full of Life" and had a Charismatic personality that, most of the time, was very entertaining. She was a very talented and award winning artist in the Tidewater area. Art students, art lovers, and fine artist realize the tremendous value of paintings that copy the style or specific work by the great masters. Bobbie was just such an artist. She discovered her talent and enthusiasm for art at a young age. She graduated from Oceana High School and attended Richmond Professional Institute, now Virginia Commonwealth University. Her residence is a gracious home, an art studio, and truly unique gallery, with personal copy works of Monet, Degas, Renoir, Picasso, Thomas Moran, and Georgia O'Keefe, as well as many of her personal original creations.

When not painting, Bobbi and Steve enjoyed their lives with their beloved West Highland Terriers, Hobbs and Winston. They enjoyed playing golf at Broad Bay Golf and Country Club, being involved with the Linlear Dining Group, the Civic League, and the Garden Club. Also, one of her great joys during the Christmas season was dressing up as Mrs. Santa Clause and riding in Steve's Model A Ford delivering gifts for the neighborhood children.

Left to cherish her colorful memory is her beloved husband, George Stephen Pruitt; loving daughter, Tracey P. Holmes and her husband, David of Virginia beach; and her devoted son, James H. Pankiewicz of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by her brother, L. James Henley.

A memorial celebration of Bobbi's Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 in the Laskin Road Chapel of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts. Burial will be private in Eastern Shore Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
