Virginia Beach - Anthony M. "Tony" Macias, 70, went home to rest with his Father in heaven, Sunday evening, July 6, 2014.
Born in San Antonio, TX, he was the son of the late Ruben and Ophelia Macias. He was the owner/operator of Shoreline Sharpening. He attended Courthouse Community United Methodist Church and was an avid supporter of the Cox High School Band and The Tidewater Winds.
Left to cherish Tony's memory are his wife, Dr. Janet M. "Jana" Macias; two daughters, Lori Wolnick and Leslie Schlag and husband Dewey, both of Colorado; and son, Larry Macias of Arizona; a second father to John Lane of Colorado, David Lane of North Carolina and Mike Lane of Virginia Beach. He was an adoring Grandpa to Wyeth and Sommer Wolnick, Kim Schlag, Stephanie Payton and husband Andy, Joshua and Abigail Schlag, Will and Thomas Macias. He was a loving Pop Pop to Lindsay Gean, Sydney and Owen Lane, Connor and Ryan Lane.
The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 6 to 7 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Nancy Vaughan officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Princess Anne Courthouse Rescue Squad, Rescue Station 21, 2461 Princess Anne Rd., Virginia Beach, VA 23456.
