Jodi S. Gidley Obituary
Jodi S. Gidley

Virginia Beach - Jodi Sickenberger Gidley, 49, sadly passed away on July 31, 2014, in Virginia Beach. She was born in Greensburg, PA to the late John & Marlene Sickenberger of Ligonier, PA.

Jodi's memory will be cherished by her high school sweetheart and husband of nearly 25 years, Jeffrey S. Gidley; her daughters, Megan age 19 & Sarah age 16; her sister, Jill S. Paraska; her grandmother, Audrey Palmer; along with many other extended family members and friends.

She graduated from Chartiers-Houston High School in Houston, PA. She attended the University of Pittsburgh, graduating with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics. Upon graduating, Jodi joined Virginia Natural Gas as a financial analyst in 1986. While there she earned a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University, where she was recently awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award. She was a strong, intelligent woman and a committed employee. She went on to become the first female Senior Vice President of Mid-Atlantic Operations, AGL Resources and the President of Elizabethtown Gas, Elkton Gas and Virginia Natural Gas.

Her commitment to her community was evident through her involvement over the years on the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, ODU Board of Visitors and the Hampton Roads Economic Development Alliance and numerous charities.

Jodi was most importantly a devoted mother and wife that will be dearly missed. Those who knew Jodi recognized her immense strength, generosity, and positive attitude. Despite her many accomplishments the unending love and support that she provided family and friends was the most valuable of all.

A celebration of Life will be held at Spring Branch Community Church on Monday, August 4, 2014 at 4pm. Because of her love of flowers, they will be welcome at the church. Condolences may be offered to the family online at:
