Vanessa R. Rombaoa

Virginia Beach - Vanessa Rosique Rombaoa passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014 surrounded by family and friends. After battling breast cancer since 2010, Vanessa succumbed to the disease. Vanessa was a fighter and through it all, her kind, caring and joyful spirit remained. Vanessa was one to always put others before herself, even in the darkest of days. Her sense of humor and laughter was infectious; her trademark giggle priceless.

Vanessa is survived by her parents, Juana and Napoleon Rombaoa; brother Clinton Rombaoa; sister, Patricia Rombaoa; boyfriend, Alan Stoll; nephews, Beckham and Dawkins Rombaoa; and their mother, Rita Rombaoa, all of Virginia Beach. Her pugs Chico and Paco will also mourn her loss. She also leaves behind a large circle of friends whom she considered to be members of her family.

Vanessa was born in Spain on June 24, 1978. Her family moved to the United States when she was eleven years old. She was a graduate of Salem High School in 1996. Since 2005, Vanessa has been employed as a Teacher Assistant with the Southeastern Cooperative Educational Program (SECEP). She was passionate about her work and her absence will be a significant loss to the organization. She truly loved her students and tried every day to make a positive impact in their lives. She was Assistant Teacher of the Year for the Tidewater District in 2008.

Vanessa had a beautiful heart and will never be forgotten.

Viewing hours will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home at 1485 Kempsville Road in Virginia Beach on Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 6-9PM. The funeral will be held in the funeral home's chapel on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 1PM. Condolences may be offered to the family at: www.hollomon-brown.com.
