Janet Roux Obituary

Janet Woods Roux passed away Dec. 6, 2007, in Sentara Leigh Memorial Hospital. Born April 27, 1959, in Orlando, Fla., she was raised in Virginia Beach and graduated from Bayside High School. She later moved to San Diego, Calif., and had top secret clearance at Miramar Naval Air Station working on flight simulators for the United States Navy. She later worked for McDonald Douglas and Hughes Aircraft. She later became an accomplished Chef, graduating from the San Diego Culinary Institute. She prided herself making evening meals an all day affair. Janet was predeceased by her father, Burle Woods. She is survived by her mother, Janet Woods; a brother, Joe Woods and his wife Linda of Columbia, S.C.; and a host of wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A funeral will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Christ Sanctified Holy Church Campground with burial in the church cemetery in Perry, Ga. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the CSHC Building Fund, c/o Danny Collins, 1125 Belvoir Lane, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.
