Eugene S. Eadie NORFOLK - Eugene Stephen Eadie, 54, passed away May 10, 2008, after a courageous nine month battle with cancer. A native of Carbondale, Ill., he was one of 11 children of the late Walter J. and the late Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Bernhard Eadie. He retired from the United States Navy as a chief petty officer after 20 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 3548. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Paulino Eadie; his daughter, Melanie Eadie Outland and her husband Ted; his son, Jamie Scott Eadie, all of Norfolk; four sisters, Martha Schuster (Jim) of Illinois, Ruth Boester (Danny) of Indiana, Mary Beth Segert (Rick) of Illinois and Louise Hagemann (Mike) of Illinois; and five brothers, twin brother Gary Eadie (Cindy) of Ohio, Ted Eadie (Ava) of Texas, Dale Eadie (Jetty) of Florida, Bernard Eadie (Mary) of Ohio and Carl Eadie (Claudette) of Kentucky. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins including a special aunt, Carolyn Nottleson and a special cousin, Liz Bernhard and his mother-in-law, Mary Paulino of Norfolk. He was predeceased by his sister, Linda Eadie Swan. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Monsignor Frederic Elkin officiating. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
