Shirley Mae Skinner CHESAPEAKE - Shirley Mae Skinner, 69, of the 1800 block of Varsity Drive, departed this life Sept. 23, 2008. Born in Windsor, N.C., she was employed with Jr. Market for 22 years until her retirement. She was a faithful member of First Trinity AME Church. She was predeceased by her son, James A. Smallwood. Survivors include her husband, Rayfield Skinner of Chesapeake; two daughters, Mable Smallwood and Debra Brewer of Norfolk; mother, Casten Clemons of Norfolk, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at noon Saturday in First Trinity AME Church. Interment will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at Pretlow and Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Sykes Apartments, 555 Liberty St., Norfolk.
