Robert Fingleton Obituary
Robert M. Fingleton NORFOLK - Robert "Bob" Fingleton, 89, passed away in a local hospital Jan. 14, 2011. Bob was a board member of Missions to Military for 43 years. He was also a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder. He proudly served his county in the U.S. Navy. Preceding him in death are his parents, John Joseph and Alice Felton Fingleton; two brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Vivien Fingleton; son, Vince Fingleton and his wife Jo of Norfolk; his daughter, Sharon Miller and her husband Bob of Virginia Beach; "Pa" as he was affectionately known, is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy Miller, Wayne, Jackie, and Sarah Fingleton; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ethan and Kayla. The family received guests Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. in Altmeyer Funeral Home, Southside Chapel, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach. A funeral will be held today at 1 p.m. in Calvary Presbyterian Church 150 Kempsville Road, Norfolk. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hope Haven Children's Home 3000 Northlanding Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23456, or Missions to Military P.O. Box 6, Norfolk, VA 23501.
