Joshua Commander Obituary

Joshua Commander Jr. CHESAPEAKE - Joshua Paul "Pete" Commander Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jan. 16, 2011. A native of Chesapeake, Joshua was the son of the late Mary Marie and Joshua Paul Commander Sr. He was predeceased by his son, Tony Harmon, and his sister, Delores Hudson. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 47 years, Pamela Diane Commander; daughters, Lori Curtis and Sherry Adams; son, Chris Commander; brother, Phil Commander; six grandchildren, Ashley, Zach and Aly Curtis, Abby and Amanda Adams and Gracie Commander; and two great- grandsons, Brandon and Aiden Curtis. Joshua proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and operated his own electrical company for many years. Joshua's life was devoted to being an incredible husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed. A memorial service celebrating Joshua's life will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at 12:30 p.m. at New Life Providence Church, 1244 Thompkins Lane, Virginia Beach.

My thoughts are prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Time will heal things this i know first hand in having lost my mom almost 3 years ago suddenly. God bless all of you!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Ashley.At a time such as this there isn't much to say or do to make family feel better. They need to grieve in there own special way. I been down your road and know what pain you are going through. Remember your Pop Paw is in a better and he won't have any more pain or suffering. God bless you and your family.
