Preston Etheridge Obituary

Preston B. Etheridge CHESAPEAKE - Preston Breeden Etheridge, 91, passed away at home Jan. 11, 2011 surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Norfolk and he served his country in the Merchant Marines. After World War II he worked for 38 years at Western Electric. Upon retirement he traveled extensively around the country in his vehicle of choice, a Suburban towing his trusty Airstream trailer. He was predeceased by his wife, Naomi Etheridge. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy H. Salyer; two grandsons, Stephen and Ned Salyer of Virginia Beach; and two great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Kathryn Salyer. In lieu of flowers, it is requested to make a donation to a charity of your choice. Services will be held Friday, Jan. 21, at 2:30 p.m. in Princess Anne Memorial Park in the Chapel Mausoleum, 1110 N. Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach. After the service, the family will be receiving friends at his daughter's residence in Laurel Cove.
