William Cannon Obituary
William O. Cannon NORFOLK - William O. Cannon, also known as "Snip," 68, passed away Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011. He was born in Norfolk to the late George Cannon and Margaret Chadwich Cannon. He was educated in the Norfolk City school system and served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a Vietnam veteran. He was a former employee of the Norfolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority. He was a Past Master of Eastern Light Lodge No. 4, P.H.A. He was predeceased by his mother, Margaret Chadwick Cannon, sister, Margaret Hunter and brother, Edward Cannon. He is survived by one brother, Robert L. Chadwick Sr. (Vivian); four children, Shelly Simpkins (Anton), Thomas Hunter (Roxanne), Clifford Hunter (Cheryl), and Debbie Lancaster; two nieces, Veronica Evans (Robert), Beverly Eure (William); one nephew, Robert Chadwick Jr. (Sandra) and a longtime special lady in his life. His memory will be cherished by family and a host of friends. The funeral will be held Friday, Feb. 11, at noon in Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church, 1502 Link St., with the Rev. Ralph Q. Moore officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Riddick Funeral Service. The burial will be at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
