Norma Sallee Sexton PORTSMOUTH - Norma Sallee Sexton, 79, of Canoe Court, died June 5, 2011 at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. She was born in Portsmouth and was a housewife. She was a member of First Church of Deliverance II in Portsmouth. She graduated from I. C. Norcom High School, Class of 1948. She was a hall of fame inductee for basketball and track at I. C. Norcom High School. Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Archie B. Sexton Sr.; daughter, Juanita Wells; sons, William Sexton, Archie Sexton Jr. and Wayne Sexton; her mother and father, Margaret Sallee and Eugene Sallee and one brother, Eugene Sallee. Survivors include six daughters, Yvonne Battle (Vernon), Marva Morris and JeNene Credle (Fred), all of Chesapeake, Saundra Barnes of Bowie, Md., Cheryl Demiel (late Timothy) and Tijuana Sexton, both of Portsmouth; four sons, Anthony Sexton (Cablinda) of Dillwyn, Va., Reginald Sexton of Charlotte, N.C., Bishop Andre Sexton (Audrey) of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and the Rev. Emmanuel Sexton (late Mary) of Portsmouth; four sisters, Barbara Gregory of California, Andrea and Pamela Sallee, both of Portsmouth and Sylvia Rucker of Mississippi; one brother, Kenneth Sallee of Portsmouth; a host of grandchildren and great- grandchildren; two aunts, Bernice Roisten and Beullah Ramirez; and sister-in-law, Mary Sallee of Portsmouth. A funeral will be held Friday, June 10, at noon at First Church of Deliverance II with the Rev. Emmanuel Sexton presiding. Burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
