Virginia Beach - Dr. Fred H. Boehmer went home to his heavenly Father on Oct. 30th, 2012. He was born in 1930 in Ontario, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents Dr. Stewart and Evelyn Boehmer. Dr. Boehmer graduated from Wheaton College in Illinois (1955) and South Western Baptist Theological Seminary (1958) and received an honorary doctorate of divinity from Stetson University (1985).
Dr. Boehmer served as a pastor in Texas, Tennessee and Connecticut. In 1976 he became senior pastor at the First Baptist Church of Brandon, Florida and remained there until his retirement in 1995 as Pastor Emeritus. Throughout the years he was extremely active in community organizations and a leader in his denomination. His accomplishments will be measured by the dramatic impact he had on members of his congregation as well as those in the community who received his pastoral guidance throughout the years.
Dr. Boehmer is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Ada Davida Boehmer; his son Stewart Boehmer and wife Kathleen of Gainesville, VA; three daughters; Anita Boehmer of Danville, VA; Betty-Jane Morrisette and husband Paul of Virginia Beach, VA; and Cindy Parker and husband Felix of Chesapeake, VA.; grandchildren Hunter, Devin, and Jade Boehmer, Rachael and Matthew Morrisette, and Danielle Parker and his brother James Boehmer and wife Faye of Toronto, Canada. He leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, colleagues and wonderful and supportive friends.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Allzwell Assisted Living in Chesapeake and Heartland Hospice who lovingly cared for their husband and father. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
