Zuni - Mary Ellen Haskins, 94, widow of Melvin Jack Haskins, passed away on February 12, 2013 at Consulate Health Care of Windsor, VA. Born in Isle of Wight County VA, April 9, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Susie Riggins Holloway. The oldest of 8, Mary was predeceased by 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Survivors include brother Harold Holloway of Rushmere, VA, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great- great nephews and their families. Of special note are niece Mary Jacqueline Rowe (Quinton), nephew Charlie B. Harris Jr. (Diane) and long time friend and church member, Cora Bridgers. Aunt Mary as she was fondly known, played a loving role in the raising of her "boys", Charlie Brandon, Christopher J., Ryan W. (Dominique) Harris and Aaron Bridgers. She was an active and involved member of Second Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk VA for 74 years. She was also a life member of the NAACP. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 11:00, Oak Grove Baptist Church, Wakefield, VA with her nephew, Rev. Leslie L. Holloway, officiating. A wake will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013, 7:00 to 8:00 pm, Crocker Funeral Home, Suffolk, VA. Interment-Gilfield Baptist Church, Ivor, VA. Condolences may be sent to the family at
