I"m so sorry for the loss of your loved one. She will really be missed by all her family and friends. Nancy was a very outgoing person and took pride in all she done for people.....not just family. She was so fortunant to live close to her sister & brother in law....Sue & George Maxwell.
They always tried to help or look in on her to make sure she was safe and just in case she needed anything...
And there is nothing like gurl time with your sis....which is what Sue & Nancy had often whether it was having coffee, walks, or shop theraphy together! They had a close bond.
Nancy tried to fill the void in her heart after her soul mate Charlie Payne passed through staying busy and being involved with her family, friends & Church.
She let her light shine and we are the lucky ones just to have had her in our lives.
In a since...she was tap dancing through life until the Lord called her home....and now she is at peace being with the family that was waiting for her in heaven. The thing that gives me peace of mind is her faith in the lord and in heaven there is no sadness or sorrow.
We all love you Nancy!
Rest I'm Peace..luv u

What a wonderful tribute to Nancy seeing so many people at the viewing. Everyone loved her. I will miss her calls to my department daily and hearing her bubbly voice or her "well, crying in a bucket" or "your just my peanut butter and jelly!". She will be greatly missed, but her job was finished here. Now she is walking and dancing and singing with her loved ones that left before her. I extend my sympathy to her family. I feel very privileged to have known her. God Bless - Jeanne Hughes, PVL Service Line, SLH/SPAH.

Aunt Nancy.. where do I begin? My Grandma Sue certainly misses her best friend! I'll miss visiting your cute house which sat perfectly next to Grandma Dell's house. I will miss hearing "Haay Stephh!" followed by a little giggle, "oh my word", and "well crying in a bucket!". You had such a quirky way about you! :-) you will be missed terribly but I think I'm finally coming to terms with your passing. I know youre singing in the best choir and catching up with all of our loved ones

You were the best sister to me for 71 years. I will miss our morning walks and coffee talks together. You were my very best friend. Thank you for being so good to me and my family. You were way too young to leave me but I know you are happy being with Charlie and Momma and Daddy. Know that your kids still have their Aunt and Uncle who love them very much and will be here for them anytime. Your brothers Jack and Paul William miss you and have always loved their "big sister." It is an honor that your children have made your final resting place along beside me, George, Baby Scott, and Momma & Daddy. My heart is broken and you will be missed terribly. Loving you always, your Sister.

Even at a wedding she is professing her love of God. Explaining how marriage is a triangle with God always at the top. She loved the Lord.

Nancy, so glad to have known you all my life. A part of my family is gone to. When my mom died a few months ago you said " she's probably catching Charlie up in all he's missed over the years" well now you all can have a good laugh together. We will miss you so much!

Well, Nancy, I guess it was time to "go on back to the house." Thanks for all the years in the church choir and with the trio. The music was fine but God's got you in the "big time" choir now! Enjoy!

Nancy was a wonderful woman. I was deeply sadden of her passing. I am very blessed to have known her and to have worked with her at Sentara CC. Nancy is greatly missed. She had such a positive outlook. She adored her family and we often talked about our grandchildren and how much fun we have with them. Her great grandbaby was such a blessing to her! She was a wonderful co worker who was always so cheerful (even her license tag was a smile). Rest well my friend you have earned it! Thank you for touching my life in such a special way.

Nancy had great comedic timing and a wonderful sense of humor. She often shared her hilarious stories of her,Charlie and the kids with us in central scheduling. She was fastidious in her work, gentle and kind with patients and coworkers alike. She loved her shoes (no matter the size)and spoke with such love and pride of her family. That soft southern accent will be greatly missed by many. It was a great honor to know Nancy. I love you Norview girl! Safe journey to Charlie. donna crumpton
