Leslie Ray Bancroft, Sr.
Chesapeake - Leslie "LB" Ray Bancroft, Sr.,77, of Denver Avenue went home to be with the Lord June 21, 2013. A native of Norfolk he was born to the late Acil and Lucille Bancroft. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a sister, Louise; brothers, Acil G., William, Acil, and Floyd. He had retired with Castle Cars and Matts Service Center, was a member of Great Bridge Baptist Church and a member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge #141. Leslie loved his family, going to the beach, golfing and the races at Dixieland Raceway.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Connie Meadows and Wendy Mapp and her husband, Cliff; sons, Leslie R. Bancroft, Jr. and his wife, Denise; Jesse Bancroft and his wife, Rebecca; his companion, Betty Brewer; sisters, Hattie Green and Virginia Luke; brothers, Jack, Joe, Steve, Raymond and Phillip Bancroft; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren; special friend, Ronnie Parker and numerous friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at Graham Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Dr. Will Langford officiating. The burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Norfolk.
