Smithfield - On July 3, 2013, Roger Lane Beale, after a brief illness and surrounded by his family, passed into eternal peace. Roger was born August 1, 1951, in Smithfield, Virginia, to the late Carl M. Beale, Jr. and E Lane Gale Beale. He grew up in Smithfield, VA. Roger graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Architecture.
Roger was a very talented and accomplished Architect with TranSystems where his talents not only shined on the drawings but in his ability to bring satisfaction to everyone involved in his many projects.
He is survived by his pride and joy - his two daughters - Emerson Lane Beale and Madison Gale Beale. Left to mourn his passing, he leaves his finance, Margaret S. Smith, of Smithfield, VA; his mother, E Lane Gale Beale; two brothers, Carl M. Beale, III, and wife, Karen, of Williamsburg, VA.; and Richard Gale Beale and wife, Teresa, of Mesa, Arizona; Robert Hutter Gale, of Smithfield, VA., fist cousin and one of his very best friends and fellow childhood troublemaker; other first cousins - Joseph Harold Gale, Washington, DC; Donald Bronson Gale, of Smithfield, VA; Thomas D. Matthews, of Suffolk, VA; Ralph L. Dressler, of Birmingham, AL; Anne Wood, of Columbus, SC; Dorothy Dressler Thomas, of Roanoke, VA., Sylvia Matthews Bacon, of Kiawah Island, SC, and his treasured nephews Carl M. Beale, IV, of Newport News, VA, and Robert Taylor Beale and wife, Emily, of Wilmington, NC; Derrick and Lane Beale of CA; Adrienne E. Beale of Mesa, AZ. and many other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was his beloved dad, Carl M. Beale, Jr. and his grandparents, Carl M. & Lucille Beale and Joseph & Edith Gale.
A celebration of Roger's life will be held on Saturday, July 6 at 4pm at the home, 101 Beale Avenue, Smithfield, Virginia. Casual attire is recommended.
