Chesapeake - Lula Mae Price, 100, of the 1300 block of Sunnybrook Terrace, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 23, 2013. She was the first black salesperson at The Famous. Lula was a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church for over 70 years where she was the Mother of the church. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star of VA Chapter 63 and Elks Lodge Temple No. 40.
Lula Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Price. She leaves to cherish her memory a host of family and friends. A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 29 from 4 until 7 p.m. at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1248 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 30 at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Frederick Blvd., Portsmouth with Bishop Curtis E. Edmonds officiating.
