Christine A. Andrews

Chesapeake - Christine "Chrissy" Ann Andrews, 48, passed away at home December 1, 2013.

Left to cherish Chrissy's memory include her loving husband, Scott; two children, Elizabeth Kathryn and Ethan Harris whom she loved dearly and to whom she devoted her life; her parents Denis and Ann Hurley of Hatboro, PA; sister, Kathy Donahue and husband Tom of Doylestown, PA; brother, Mike Hurley of Philadelphia, PA; and six nieces and nephews, Patrick and Ryan Donahue, Spencer and Riley Andrews, and Greta and Gregg Andrews.

Chrissy was a native of Pennsylvania. Besides being very active in both of her children's lives, she also gave back to the community in many ways. She was extremely involved with the entire travel softball community in Hampton Roads and was a much-loved second mom to many of the girls playing with the Hampton Roads Vipers and Virginia Legends. She was active in the Western Branch PTA and American Black and Tan Coonhound Rescue. She attended Oakland Christian Church in Suffolk, Virginia, where she taught Sunday School.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, Dec. 6, at 1:30 p.m. in Oakland Christian Church by the Rev. Gregory Ryan. Burial will be in Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Operation Smile, 3641 Faculty Blvd, Virginia Beach, VA 23453, or the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Lockbox #1352, P.O.
