Mable Fields Obituary
Portsmouth - Mable C. Fields, 87 of Henderson Street passed on March 25, 2014 surrounded by family in her residence. She was born in Littleton, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband Waddell Fields and children Alyise Gaines and Calvin Fields. She was a member of Celestial Baptist Church and a member of the Gospel Choir. She retired from General Electric after 15 years of service.
She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, JoAnn Veale (James), special daughter, Margaret Clarkson, sons, Clarence Fields (Rose), George Fields, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, special sister-in-law, Shirley Fields, son-in-law, Carl P. Gaines, 2 girlfriends, Lucille Joyner, Joan Smith, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service Saturday 11 a.m. Celestial Baptist Church by Rev. Ann Fortineau. The burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, VA. The body will be in church at 10 a.m. Viewing will begin Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The family will be at 1410 Lake Forest Drive. The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to Bon Secours nurses and staff for the love and care given during her illness. Fisher Funeral Home, 1520 Effingham Street, Portsmouth, VA.
