Vivian Speller Obituary
Norfolk - Vivian Arlethia Speller was called home on June 2, 2015. She was born on August 4, 1929 in Kinston, North Carolina to the late James and Mattie Bell Albertson. Vivian soon moved to Virginia to attend Norfolk Public Schools. She later married Curtis Speller, and they had four children. Vivian was a loving and nurturing mother who raised her four children while working several jobs to include becoming Supervisor of the Dietary department of Norfolk Community Hospital. Vivian is survived by her four children, Wanda Willoughby, Curtis Speller, Jr., Yvette Collins, and Kevin Speller (Connie); nine grandchildren, James (Vernetta) Rudolph Jr.(Chinell), Aubrey, Brandon, Jasmine, Streling, Brittney, David Jr., and Courtney; five great-grandchildren, Pernell, Denise, Jayla, Destiny, and Jalen; and a host of family and friends.
A visitation will take place on Monday, June 8, 2015 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Hale Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. also at Hale Funeral Home. Dr. Vernard Hinton will officiate the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Norfolk, VA. www.halefuneralhome.com
