Stephen Grulich Obituary
Virginia Beach - Stephen N. Grulich passed away on September 14, 2015 in a local hospital. He was born in PA on September 6, 1949 to the late George and Doris Grulich and grew up mostly in Monmouth County, NJ. Stephen attended the University of Arizona where he was President of Phi Kappa Alfa. He owned and operated bars and restaurants in Florida and New Jersey, and had the largest beach/night club on the east coast "Tradewinds" booking several national acts. He also worked in commodities for private clients throughout the years. He had a passion for animals and was President of the SPCA in Monmouth County, NJ for 14 years.
Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Julia Grulich, four children, Michael Azzolina and his wife Lana, Stevie, Chrissy, and Carly, a sister, Joan Hershbell-Johnson, brother in law Gary Johnson, a brother, David Grulich and his wife Rosemary and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in Trinity Church, 401 35th Street in Virginia Beach. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Trinity Church, Parish Day School Fund or to the SPCA in honor of Steve. hdoliver.com

Dear Julie,
I just learned of Steve's passing and I'm so sorry for your loss. Steve was a dear friend while at Asbury Park HS. He was always so considerate to everyone. A true gentleman. He is in a better place and I wish you the best as you move forward. May God bless you and your family.

I am so sorry to hear of Stephens passing.
He was a true friend ..in the early 70's..until I moved in 1979 to Florida .. he was always there for me as young with so much more to learn
I loved his mom and dad..he was a trus gentleman
He and David kept me smiling with stories ..you and your family have my deepest sympathy

Hi, Julie,
I did not know of Steve's passing and am so sorry to have just heard. I fondly remember meeting him first when you were Samantha's preschool teacher.

I am so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. We were good friends at Asbury Park HS and I later worked for him at the Empire Bar in Asbury Park. Steve actually introduced me to my first wife. A good man for sure.
