Richard Krantz

Virginia Beach - Richard Krantz, 86, VA Beach resident for 41 years, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 11, 2016. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 64 years, Doris M. Krantz, his daughter, Cynthia Healey, and son-in-law, Richard Healey, son, Thomas Krantz, daughter, Heather Krantz, and grandchildren, Christine Healey, Ian and Paul Krantz, Kaleigh and Megan Oleynik.

Richard was born in Essex County, NJ. He graduated from Rutgers University and Yale University and he was well-known in the lumber and wood industries. He was president of R. Krantz Wood Products in VA Beach and Good Wood Products in South Hill, VA. He served in the army in the 1950's in Germany. In Bound Brook, NJ, he served the community as an elected member of the Board of Education and he was active in the Shade Tree Commission. Richard will be well-remembered as a loving, brilliant, kind, and tender-hearted gentleman.

Friends and neighbors will be welcomed to the home from 4:00-6:30 pm on April 14, 2016 for a celebration and remembrance of Richard's life.
