Enoch Cornett, 80, of Brooks, died on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at Baptist Health in Louisville.
The native of Gordon, Ky., was a former police officer
for the Cumberland Police Department and he retired from General Electric Appliance Park.
He was a member of the Order of Eastern Star 72 in Lebanon Junction and Zoneton Masonic Lodge 964. He was also a member of Maryville Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosa Lee Lowery Cornett; and two brothers, Milburn and Wilburn Cornett.
He is survived by his children, Ken (Theresa) Cornett of Shepherdsville, Kat (Bobbie) Williams of Brooks, Mark (Candy) Cornett of Mount Washington and John (Virginia) Cornett of Hillview; sisters, Sybil Eldridge of Oldenburg, Ind., Nadine Dixon, Carsie Gross and Clairie Sexton, all of Bristol, Tenn., Arva Chambless of Munfordsville and Mabel Bowling of Greensburg, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three grand "dogs".
Funeral services were at Noon on Friday, Nov. 8, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with burial in Brookland Cemetery. The Rev. John M. Loudermilk II officiating. Visitation was from 1-8 p.m. on Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday. A masonic service was at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction was in charge of arrangements.
