Harold Wesley Seay, 88, of Mount Washington, died on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012.
The native of Bloomfield retired as masonry superintendent for Sullivan and Cozart Construction Co. after 40 years of service. He served as a medic in the U.S. Army during World War II
Seay was a lifelong Methodist, first a member of Campground UMC in Bloomfield and then Mount Washington UMC, where he served as trustee for multiple years. He was a 55-year member of the Mount Washington Lions Club, the VFW
and a Kentucky Colonel.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Murphy; brothers, Leon Hardesty Seay, Thomas Elbert Seay, Donald Norris Seay; sisters, Mayme Francis Seay, Grace Lavon Seay, Margie Helen Seay, Mable Marie Seay and Eula Margaret Seay; and his parents, Oscar and Virginia Reed Hardesty Reed.
He is survived by two brothers, Joseph Reed (Patsy) Seay of Bloomfield, Billy Elmo (Hilda) Seay of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; sister, Betty Ann (Bill) Seay Bubier of Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.; his wife of 31 years, Kathleen Lamastus; daughter, Susan Denise Seay of Mount Washington; son, Harold W. Seay Jr. of Detroit; stepson, Todd (Cynthia) Long of Cincinnati; stepdaughter, Deborah Renee (Lawrence Richard) Kesecker of Birmingham, Ala.; stepson, Lee Martin (Fallon) Long of Simpsonville; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and siser-in-law, Doris Ann Seay.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, at Schmid Funeral Home in Mount Washington with burial in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday.
