James Irvin Mobley

James Irvin Mobley, 90, formerly of Fern Creek, died on Dec. 28, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
The native of Mercer County, the Christian Church minister served five Kentucky churches. He attended Cincinnati Christian University, Louisville Bible College and the College of the Scriptures. He was a disabled veteran from World War II.
His first ministry was with his home church, Cornishville Christian Church. He later served with Fairview Christian Church, Lawrenceburg; Plum Creek Christian Church, Butler; and First Christian Church, Mount Washington.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae Royalty Mobley; parents, Golden and Hettie Hendren Mobley; and ten brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Tom (Alice) Mobley of Bardstown and Steven (Hazel) Mobley of Mount Washington; grandchildren, Rachael (Matt) Nickoson, Indianapolis, Joe and John (April) Mobley, all of Mount Washington, and Marc (Katie) Mobley of Bardstown; great-grandsons, Justin, James and Noah Mobley and Mathias and Levi Nickoson; and a brother, R.C. Mobley of Harrodsburg.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 2, at Fern Creek Funeral Home with Marcus A. Mobley and R. Matthew Nickoson officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
