Mary Evelyn Lee Harned, 93, of Shepherdsville, died on Saturday, March 9, 2013.
The native of Belmont, she was a homemaker who loved her family and friends, enjoyed watching birds and other wildlife; and liked to go for scenic car rides. She lived in the Okolona area for a large part of her life. She was a member of Okolona Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinn E. Harned; parents, John Henry and Maude Helen Lee; three brothers, James "Dub" Walter Lee, Clifford "Cliff: Ray Lee and William "Bill" Hill Lee; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Lee and Evelyn Lee.
She is survived by two sons, Ack Lee (Barbara) Harned of Brandenburg and Robert Darrell Harned of Lebanon Junction; daughter, Linda Dean (George) Parish of Taylorsville; sister-in-law, Doreen Lee of Shepherdsville; five grandchildren, Susan Camille (Kevin) Hobbs, Kimberly Dawn Harned, Robert Quinn (Angie) Parish, Laura Lee (Jeremiah) Hillman and Donnie (Kim) Harned; six great-grandchildren, Kevin Tyler Hobbs, Kaylee Allison Hobbs, Braden Acklee Hobbs, Brandon Quinn Parish, Ashton McKella Parish and Lydia Dean Hillman; a great-great-grandchild, Ruby Anne Parish; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at Hardy-Close Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with the Rev. John E. Carter officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Cemetery. Visitation will be from Noon until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
