Charley F. Gentry, 81, of Shepherdsville, died on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014.
He was a Baptist by faith and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He served in law enforcement in Bullitt County for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Gentry; brothers, Rufus and Cecil Gentry; nephew, Alan Gentry; and niece, Shirley Figg.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margie Gentry; children, Chuck (Karen) Gentry and Pam (Johnny) Mallon; grandchildren, Rachel and Ellie Gentry, Stephanie Smith, Misty McDonough of Glasgow, Scotland, and Andy Mallon.
Funeral services will be at Noon on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home near Shepherdsville with burial in Highland Memory Gardens in Mount Washington. Visitation will be from Noon until 8 p.m. on Monday and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
