Dana Hester, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018, at his home in Pennsylvania.
Dana graduated from Bullitt East High School in 1982 and majored in broadcasting at Western Kentucky University. He went on to have a successful career in television production in Nashville. Dana was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Washington.
Dana's love of music began early in his life. He took great pleasure in getting together with his brothers and his best friend ever, Ray Hatter, to sit and play and sing surrounded by an ever-widening circle of family and friends. From Pegasus to Inside Track to Exit 4 and beyond, Dana always challenged himself to be the best he could, whether it was playing bass or guitar, mandolin or ukulele, keyboard or percussion. His natural talent for sound reinforcement and engineering led him to his most recent employment at Clair Audio, first in Nashville and finally in Lititz, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Lee Hester.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Edlin Hester; mother, Gaynell Phillips Hester; brothers, Anthony (Liane) Hester, Timothy (Carrie) Hester Miannan and Michael (Michelle) Hester; a sister, Mitzi Hester Burkhead, widow of Robert; and many nieces and nephews.
McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home in Mount Washington was entrusted with the arrangements.
