Dylan Kendal Downs, 22, of Shepherdsville, born on May 19, 1995, son of Kenann and Greg Sharp and Joey and Dina Downs, passed away on April 9, 2018.
Dylan was a 2013 graduate of Bullitt Central High School, where he played football for the Cougars. His senior year, Dylan's team won the Bullitt Cup. He attended the University of Louisville and Campbellsville University. Dylan also played football for the 2015 Mid-South Conference West Champion Campbellsville Tiger football team.
Dylan's life passions were lifting weights, playing a good game of Xbox with the Penguins, hanging with his brothers ('I gotta take a shower first!'), and blasting The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Dylan was a kind and gentle soul who had so many special friends who he loved and who loved him back, especially his football brothers.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Charlotte Downs.
Along with his parents, Dylan is survived by brothers, Drew Downs and Austin Sharp; sisters, Kayla (Nick) Mudd and Stephanie Nakos; grandparents, Kenneth and Debby Rigdon, Kelly and Barbara Alsop and Barbara Sharp; aunts, Susan (Todd) Johnson, Blenda (Jamie) Lee, Marsha (Alan) Garrett and Marilyn Bowman; uncles, Steve Sharp, Brad Alsop and Danny (Lisa) Alsop; cousins, Jenna (Joshua) Arend and Alex, Lucas Johnson, Nina (Brian) Belcher, Lily and Mia, Whitney (Aaron) Maddox and Willow, Nicki (Chad) Stinnett and Keagan and Kasey, Jay (Becca) Lee and Jake and Adi, and a host of family and friends.
Special thanks to Landmark Recovery and their excellent staff. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bullitt County Animal Shelter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home near Shepherdsville with burial in Brookland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. on Friday and after 10 a.m. on Saturday.
