Gregory Gardiner Hardesty Sr., 80, of Mount Washington, died on Friday, June 28, 2013, at Green Meadows Healthcare Center in Mount Washington.
He was a retired computer programmer for the Louisville Police Department. The native of Lebanon, Ky., was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Mount Washington and was an Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph R. and Martha Gardiner Hardesty; and a sister, Rosalee Mayo.
He is survived by his wife, the former Ann Abell; daughters, Theresa Ann Yamasaki, Karen Marie Harris and Sharon L. Miles; sons, Gregory G. Hardesty Jr., and Joseph Hardesty; sister, Jane Spalding; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with burial in St. Augustine Cemetery in Lebanon. Visitation was from 2-8 p.m. on Monday at Schmid Funeral Home in Mount Washington. The family thanks Green Meadows for their loving care. On-line condolences may go to
