Juanita Beghtol Maraman, 65, of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Oct. 1, 2017.
She was born in Jefferson County on July 27, 1952, to the late James and Rita Beghtol. Her first home church was Mount Elmira Baptist Church for 15 years. She then joined Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she stayed for another 15-20 years. Later, she became a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Cox's Creek, where she faithfully attended for more than 15 years.
She loved her church and gardening. She was an awesome grandmother who really adored her grand babies. Mrs. Maraman was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Rita Beghtol; and a sister, Faye Childers.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Leonard Maraman; two sons, Stafford Maraman and Abe (Tiffany) Maraman; three grandchildren, Corey, Seth and Evan Maraman; three brothers, Stanley Thiry, Dale Thiry and Jimmy Beghtol; three sisters, Shirley Stacey, Lorraine Rogers and Evelyn Hutchins; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Thursday, Oct. 5, at New Salem Baptist Church in Cox's Creek with burial on the family farm. Visitation will be rom Noon until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home near Shepherdsville and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
