Leonard Ray Thompson, 72, of Shepherdsville, died on Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East.
The native of Bullitt County was a retired truck driver with Tradewinds Trucking Co. and an honorable veteran of the Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Thelma Thompson; a son, Teddy Thompson; siblings, Mary McCubbins, Farrell, Justin, Randy, Donald Russell, Charles, Charlene, Olivia and Priscilla Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Earleen Thompson of Shepherdsville; his children, Danny Thompson of Shepherdsville, Karen (Mark) Redding of Shepherdsville, Troy Thompson of Falmouth and Cyndi (Dexter) Jones of Shepherdsville; siblings, Loretta Morris and Debbie Jett, both of Shepherdsville, Valerie Brown of Bardstown, Maynard Thompson and Dennis Thompson, both of Shepherdsville, Joe and Eric Thomson, both of Raleigh, N.C.; his grandchildren, Chris, Candice, Derik, Kayla, Lauren, Megan, T.J., Candice, Noah, Victoria, Dakota, Dalton, Odessa and Clarissa; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, at Maraman Billings Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with the Rev. Greg Crenshaw officiating. Visitation was from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
