Leslie David Abell, 66, of Lebanon Junction, died on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center Hospital.
The native of Belmont was a truck driver who also worked in forestry and construction during his lifetime. He was a Navy veteran and a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie and Stella Abell; and a brother, Owen B. Abell.
He is survived by a son, Jerry David (Rosalyn) Abell of Henderson, Ky.; a grandson, Jessey Wayne Abell of Germany; eight sisters, Betty Lowrey of Clovis, Calif., Faye Goodman of Milton, Fla., Nancy Reynolds and Joyce Walls, both of Lebanon Junction, Lois Johnson, Marlene Dawson and Glenda "Tiny" Wright, all of Shepherdsville, and Sandy Smith of Cox's Creek; and one brother, William "Boo Boo" Abell of Milton, Fla.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with the REv. JOhn Sellinger officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff. Visitation was from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
