Mona Fay Tamme, 75, of Lebanon Junction, died on Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.
The daughter of Arvie L and Kathleen Johnson of Lewisburg taught school for 30 years in Bullitt County. She was actively involved in church and civic activities and was a volunteer for the American Red Cross for 25 years.
She was a member of the Bullitt County Woman's Club and the First Baptist Church of Lebanon Junction.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Tamme; and her parents.
She is survived by her step-children, Wayne (Anita) Tamme of Belzer, S.C., and Connie (Clayton) Tamme Denny of Danville; a sister, Rebecca (Lawrence) McGehee of Lewisburg; a brother, Drexel (Vernita) Johnson of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Kimberly Tamme and Kellie Kenney, Chad (Rachel) Denny and Chris Denny; and a great-grandchild, Brooklynn Kenney.
Fuenral services were at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, at the First Baptist Church of Lebanon Junction with the Rev. Rick White officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery in Danville. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction and after 9 a.m. on Saturday at the church.
Memorial gifts may go to her church, the Bullitt County Retired Teachers Scholarship Fund or the donor's favorite charity.
Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction was in charge of arrangements.
