Chasteen (Peck) Harp, 81, of Brooks, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2014.
He was very proud of his Navy service. He served in the Korean War. He was a member of the AM VETS and VFW, as was honored to be a member of Masonic Lodge 910 in Cub Run. The native of Edmonson County retired from Ford Motor Company and he was an avid boater, fisherman and hunter. He was a man of nature.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Flossie Duvall and Arnold Harp; daughter, Lesa Loraine Harp; two brothers, Lloyd and Lee Cook; and sister, Lucy Mayfield.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Hicks Harp; grandson, Micah House of Brooks; sisters, Millie Robinson of Rantoul, Ill., and Norma Cassida of Linden, Ind.; and two brothers, Chuck Harp of Lake Villa, Ill., and Norman McCart of Plainfield, Ind.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, April 26, at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home near Shepherdsville with burial in Hill Grove Cemetery in Edmonson County. Visitation from Noon until 8 p.m. on Friday. Expressions of sympathy may go to the and Hosparus.
