Dean Armstrong, 92, of Mount Washington, died on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Green Meadows Healthcare Center.
The Guest Book is expired.
He was adored as a father and as a husband to his wife, Frances Armstrong, until her death in 1987. He was also a faithful caregiver to her the last two years of her life. Later, he married his second wife, Cynthia Logsdon, and cared for her until her passing.
A retired farmer, he took up wood working and made wonderful things for friends and family members. He was also an avid fisherman, loving nothing more than to catch and cook fish for anyone he could get to the table. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Mount Washington, where he served as deacon and Sunday School superintendent. It was his pride and joy to be present when the Armstrong clan gathered for yearly reunions, especially when UK basketball was being discussed.
He was preceded in death by his wives; parents; brothers, Myron, Hubert, Carl and S.O. Armstrong Jr.; and several sisters.
He is survived by his daughter, Candace (Candy); and a host of nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces and great-greats of both.
